Nickel alloy welding wire is used to join nickel alloys, stainless steels, carbon steels and dissimilar metals in chemical processing, oil and gas, marine, power generation and high-temperature equipment.

Common classifications include ERNiCr-3, ERNiCrMo-3, ERNiCrMo-4, ERNiCrMo-10, ERNiCu-7, ERNi-1 and ERNiFeCr-1. Selection depends on the base materials, welding process and service conditions.
