Incoloy 800

Incoloy 800, designated UNS N08800, is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy combining corrosion resistance, heat resistance, strength and metallurgical stability. Its nickel content helps resist chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, chromium provides resistance to oxidation and other high-temperature attack, and iron improves resistance to internal oxidation. The alloy is readily formed, welded and machined and is commonly supplied for heat-treatment baskets and fixtures, heat exchangers, process piping, steam-generator tubing, electric-heating-element sheathing, pulp-processing heaters and petrochemical equipment.

Incoloy 800 is used for heat-treatment baskets and fixtures, heat exchangers, chemical process piping, steam-generator tubing, electric-heating-element sheathing, pulp-processing heaters, furnace components and petrochemical equipment requiring corrosion and heat resistance.

Yes. UNS N08800 is the standardized designation for Incoloy 800. The material may also be identified as Alloy 800, Werkstoff 1.4876 or EN X10NiCrAlTi32-20.

Standard Alloy 800 permits carbon up to 0.10% and has no general coarse-grain requirement. Alloy 800H requires carbon of 0.05-0.10% and an average ASTM grain size of 5 or coarser, giving it better long-term creep and stress-rupture strength. N08800 should not be substituted for N08810 when the design specifically requires 800H.

Alloy 800HT should be considered when prolonged elevated-temperature service requires the highest qualified creep and rupture performance in the Alloy 800 family. UNS N08811 has controlled carbon, higher combined aluminum and titanium, coarse grains and a specified high-temperature solution treatment.

We can quote plate, sheet, strip, foil, round bar, rod, wire, seamless or welded pipe and tube, fasteners, fittings, flanges, forgings and welding wire. Custom dimensions, cut pieces, machining allowance and drawing-based products can also be discussed.

Yes. Alloy 800 has good weldability using clean joint preparation, controlled heat input and a qualified welding procedure. AWS ERNiCr-3 filler metal and ENiCrFe-2 covered electrodes are commonly used, but the final consumable must match the service temperature, corrosion environment and construction code.
