Incoloy 25-6Mo

Incoloy 25-6MO is commonly specified for equipment exposed to seawater, chloride-bearing acids, contaminated cooling water and other aggressive process media. Also identified as Alloy 926 or UNS N08926, this super-austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy contains approximately 6.5% molybdenum together with copper and nitrogen. The composition provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and both oxidizing and reducing chemicals. Typical applications include offshore systems, flue-gas desulfurization equipment, chemical tanks, heat exchangers, seawater piping, pulp bleaching equipment and sulfuric or phosphoric acid processing.

Yes. UNS N08926 is the standardized UNS designation associated with Incoloy 25-6MO and Alloy 926. The material may also be identified as W.Nr. 1.4529 or X1NiCrMoCuN25-20-7.

Alloy 25-6MO contains approximately 6.5% molybdenum and about 0.2% nitrogen, compared with the lower molybdenum level of 904L. These additions provide higher strength and substantially improved resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking.

YSN128 can quote plate, sheet, strip, round bar, wire, seamless pipe, welded pipe, heat-exchanger tube, forgings, fasteners, flanges, fittings and drawing-based machined components.

Common standards include ASTM A240 and ASTM B625 for plate and sheet, ASTM B649 for bar and wire, ASTM B677 for seamless pipe and tube, ASTM B673 and B674 for welded pipe and tube, and EN 10088 specifications for flat and long products.

Solution annealing is normally performed between 1150 and 1200 °C, with approximately 1180 °C commonly preferred, followed by rapid water cooling. The holding time depends on product thickness. Thin sections below approximately 1.5 mm may be rapidly air cooled.

Yes. The alloy can be welded using qualified TIG, MIG, plasma and submerged-arc procedures. Over-alloyed fillers such as ERNiCrMo-13 or ERNiCrMo-3 are commonly recommended. Low heat input, stringer beads, clean tooling and an interpass temperature below 120 °C help preserve corrosion resistance.
